Pentru a putea avea o imagine cât mai aproape de realitate, despre calitatea serviciilor oferite de operatorii hotelieri din Târgu Jiu am căutat comentariile turiștilor care au vizitat orașul, pe cele mai populare site-uri de specialitate și anume www.tripadvisor.com și www.booking.com . Ambele portaluri ne indică în jur de 22 – 30 de unități de cazare în orașul lui Brâncuși, hoteluri și pensiuni. O problemă generală cu care s-au confruntat majoritatea turiștilor străini este lipsa lifturilor chiar dacă unele hoteluri au doar 3 sau 4 etaje, însă, la unele unități de cazare lipsa lifturilor a fost compensată de personalul hotelier care ajută turiștii să-și ducă bagajul în cameră. De asemenea printre comentariile cele mai frecvente se află și faptul că micul dejun este sărăcăcios la majoritatea hotelurilor și pensiunilor. Refuzul la plată a cardurile de credit este o alta nemulțumire a turiștilor veniți în Târgu Jiu. Turiștii care au postat comentarii se mai plâng și de faptul că așteaptă prea mult la unele restaurate pentru a comanda dar și de faptul că personalul nu este atât de amabil cât ar trebui să fie.
Unitatea de cazare cu cele mai multe comentarii negative pe www.tripadvisor.com este Hotel Gorj, iată ce scriu cei care au trecut pragul hotelului.
In a small town Luke targu jiu, the hotel rates are too expensive compared to rest of Europe..especially the limited amenities you get after paying through your nose ..the breakfast isbkust abt OK.. Almost everything is central for this small town so location doesn’t matter .. Service is limited, its just that you dont have a better alternative that you have pick these average options..

this is probably the main hotel in Targu Jiu and after a not a pleasant experience at another hotel there we chose to stay here but as somebody who lived few years during the Communism i was not too happy to see again the reminisce of those time in this hotel. the rooms were dark, with old furniture, the restaurant with no style and the management and the staff at reception behaving like they will do you a favor. the hotel has the advantage of being in the center of town so easy to just get out and see the nice piece of art of Brancusi in the near park but hotel itself really need a new management and some investment. if you look for something central is a good option but do not expect much.

Apart from its location, in the center of Tg. Jiu, just across a beautiful park, there is nothing good about this hotel. There were so many bad and poor aspects that we’ve decided to leave the hotel after the first night, but, especially, after the first breakfast.

We spent one night at this hotel, without breakfast, on our way home from mountains. The interior of the room is quite modern and clean as well as bathroom. No problem with hot water. The hotel has the aura of the communism history. For the price what the receptionist offered us we were satisfied. I can recommend this hotel to people who want to have one-day relax after coming from the mountains (I don´t have any experience with long stay in this hotel). The hotel is situated in the center, about 10 – 15 minutes by walk from the Targu Jiu Gara (train station) and Autogara (bus station).

Însă nu toate unitățile de cazare din Târgu Jiu au comentarii negative. Spre exemplu despre Pensiunea Antique se scrie frumos, însă, au fost destui clienți nemulțumiți.

I spent several days in Antique and both the accommodation and restaurant were up to the task. Nice and clean room, free WiFi, plenty to choose from in the menu and the food was very good.

Made a reservation at the restaurant, to go out with friends. They confirmed my reservation, but when we got there we were surprised to find out they din’t take our reservation and the staff were wery rood :” we don’t care, get out”… Not recommended…..

Fiecare unitate de cazare are avantaje și dezavantaje. Spre exemplu Casa Danielescu este apreciată de majoritatea turiștilor care au beneficiat de serviciile oferite, însă, punctul slab este faptul că se află la distanță față de centrul orașului, însă, pentru cei care doresc liniște este un loc ideal. O poziționare foarte bună o are și Hotelul Europa dat fiind faptul că se află în zona centrală. Sunt destul de mulți clienții mulțumiți care apreciază locația. La Hotel Europa turiștii străini au apreciat faptul că recepționerele vorbesc o engleză perfectă, terasa și restaurantul hotelului sunt apreciate dar sunt cam nemulțumiți de micul dejun care ar trebui îmbunătățit în opinia turiștilor.
De departe turiștii veniți în Târgu Jiu și care se cazează la Hotel Anna sau Anna Junior sunt cei mai mulțumiți, au postat cele mai multe comentarii și nici unul negativ. La Hotel Anna sunt apreciate serviciile, curățenia amabilitatea personalului și bucătăria.

I just visit this hotel’s restaurant last year. It was a good surprise. The stuff is very kind, polite, friendly and helpful. The food i have ordered was so delicious. The restaurant is nice and good located. I will return here.

I stayed here for 3 nights as I used Targu Jiu as a base for exploring the area instead of moving hotels frequently. I really enjoyed the hotel. Every staff member has been extremely friendly and helpful. Almost all speak very good English so they can help with questions about the area. My room was very large and had all the standards: minibar, double bed, a/c. The bathroom was spacious as well with bathrobes which was unexpected. My only complaint of my whole stay is the hairdryer. It isn’t the best for drying longer hair and takes longer than normal. Breakfast was plentiful with a nice variety. Also, you have free access the the Anna Complex which houses a great pool with bar. It is about a 10 min walk as the pool is actually on an island in the river. If I am back in the area I would stay here again.

Don’t be fooled by the 3 stars, this is much more than a 4 starred hotel in other locations i have stayed.Ultimate bathroom facilities and great 3d smart tv make you feel more than at home.
I have stayed plenty of times at Anna junior,but never here until now because they were always fully booked.Make sure to make a reservation at least one day before.The breakfast is a royal one,the best i had ever in hotels.
The only thing i found confusing is getting to the room, the have more than one building and the rooms are reachable through the cafe or the restaurant.

Cei mai mulți dintre turiștii din străinătate țin cont de comentariile postate pe aceste site-uri atunci când își aleg hotelul sau restaurantul.
Turiștii străini apreciază cele două pacuri din Târgu Jiu principalele puncte de atracție ale orașului și au postat comentarii pozitive, însă, poate că ar mai trebui adăugate în mediul online și alte repere turistice pentru a fi convinși că se merită să ajungi în Târgu Jiu.
